MOST WANTED Part 1 Peter Parker is back in the friendly neighborhood, but he's persona non grata as far as the NYPD is concerned! What Red Shirt Comics said:

This is probably my favorite superhero book on the stands from Marvel. It's characterization is perfect and the emotions feel genuine. It's fun, it has heart, it reminds me of all the reasons I have always loved Spider-Man. Issue 6 really brought the water works, issue 7? Well, Zdarsky says he's even more proud of this one. Just you wait and see!

FINALLY, the origin revealed behind the mastermind of Metal's Dark Nights. The most twisted and vile of the evil dark universe Batmen takes center stage and trust me when I say...

Don't read this on a full stomach.

Other Pick of the Week:

Ninja-K #1

$3.99

(W) Christos Gage (A) Tomas Giorello (CA) Trevor Hairsine

A NEW CAN'T-MISS ONGOING SERIES! From acclaimed writer Christos Gage (Netflix's Daredevil) and superstar artist Tomas Giorello (X-O MANOWAR), the United Kingdom's most dreaded intelligence operative delves into the cold, calculating world of espionage and international intrigue! For nearly a century, MI-6, the most elite branch of Britain's clandestine intelligence service, has honed a ruthlessly effective, top-secret division - THE NINJA PROGRAMME - into one of its nation's most finely wielded weapons. Tasked as the first and last line of defense for queen and country, this small shadow army of agents and assassins has produced a succession of notable assets, including NINJA-A, the Queen's silent weapon of World War I; NINJA-E, the globetrotting secret agent that pulled the Cold War back from the brink of armageddon; and, most recently, NINJA-K, aka Colin King, a brash but fearless instrument of lethality that has saved the world from madmen and terror at every turn. But now...an unknown enemy is hunting and killing members of THE NINJA PROGRAMME one by one - and NINJAK is next on the list.

What Red Shirt Comics said:

Valiant has been reaching out to new readers with this year's sets of #1 issues. Most of these do a good job introducing people to their long running but lesser known universe. This one especially really brings you up to speed on the excitement of Ninjak. It's still a little stuck in the 90s, but in that fun kind of way with a modern more servicable version of 90s art. Give it a look!

Other Pick of the Week:

Fence #1

$3.99

(W) C.S. Pacat (A/CA) Johanna the Mad

Novelist C.S. Pacat (Captive Prince) and fan-favorite artist Johanna the Mad team up for a new series perfect for fans of Check, Please! and Yuri!!! on Ice. Sixteen-year-old Nicholas Cox is an outsider to the competitive fencing world. Filled with raw talent but lacking proper training, he signs up for a competition that puts him head-to-head with fencing prodigy Seiji Katayama...and on the road to the elite all-boys school Kings Row. A chance at a real team and a place to belong awaits him-if he can make the cut!

What Red Shirt Comics said:

Okay, I have a soft spot for these lowkey, cute, everyday life stories. This definitely blends in a manga art style but it packs a lot of poignancy in fairly simple stripped down art. It's easy to get sucked into the main protagonist. My one complaint is that issue one should have been double sized.
